The go-live checklist

Lesson 11 of 20 8 min

Going live is a short wizard. The work is everything you do before it. This lesson is the checklist, followed by a plain description of what going live costs and when.

Catalog

  • Every product you want to sell is active and has at least one image, a price, a weight and stock.
  • Categories are populated. An empty category page is a dead end.
  • Products you are not ready to sell stay as drafts.

Payments

  • Live credentials for at least one card provider are entered. On the test store you tested in sandbox mode; live card payments open only on your custom domain, and only with live credentials.
  • Non-card methods you enabled have the right details: your IBAN list for bank transfer, regional and amount limits for cash on delivery.
  • You have placed a sandbox order with each enabled method and seen the order arrive in your admin.

Shipping

  • A carrier is connected, or rates are entered by hand, or your contract rate table is uploaded.
  • A test order shows a sensible shipping cost before the payment step.
  • Company details are complete, and the generated preliminary information form and distance sales contract read correctly.
  • KVKK notice, privacy policy, shipping and return terms are published and linked in the footer.
  • The cookie banner is on.
  • Invoice mode is set: an e-invoice integrator is connected, or you have declared that you issue invoices externally.
  • ETBİS registration is done or in progress. The wizard reminds you, but the responsibility is yours.

Storefront

  • Theme published and checked on a phone: homepage, category, product, cart, checkout.
  • About, Contact, Shipping and Returns pages exist.
  • The reply-to address for store emails is your real address, so customer replies reach you.
  • If you enabled extra languages, the main pages have translations.

The full test order

Place one order as a customer and walk it through every stage in your admin: pending, preparing, shipped, completed. Check that the order confirmation email arrives, that the contract PDF is attached, and that stock went down. Then open a return request from the customer account and process it. Fifteen minutes here saves a confused first customer.

What going live costs

Nothing today. The wizard does not ask for a card. From the moment your domain is active, the first month of hosting is free for every store.

At the end of that month, your admin shows your real usage: visits, storage and media bandwidth. You pick the hosting plan that matches. Plans differ only in those resources. Features are identical in every plan, and support is the same for every customer.

If you do not choose a plan, restrictions arrive step by step: notifications first, then a read-only admin, then a maintenance page on the storefront. Choosing a plan restores everything with no data loss. If a plan quota fills up later, your store does not close; you get a warning and a suggestion to move up or add a quota pack.

Your domain

Kambloo does not sell domains. Buy one from a registrar of your choice. The domain does not need any hosting package; the only thing you will do at the registrar is add two DNS records in the next lesson.

If your domain already has a live website on it, keep it running. The wizard has an option that prepares the certificate before you switch, so visitors see no gap.

Common mistakes

  • Going live with sandbox credentials and discovering that real cards are declined.
  • Skipping the full test order because the sandbox order "worked" at checkout.
  • Leaving the reply-to address as the default, so customer replies go nowhere useful.
  • Buying hosting from the registrar. You do not need it.

Apply this in your store: work through each section above, place the full test order, and buy your domain. Then move to the next lesson.

Your task

  1. Place one complete sandbox order and follow it from checkout to completed.
  2. Confirm live credentials are entered for at least one payment provider.
  3. Buy your domain from a registrar if you do not have one yet.

You need a store to do this. Open a free test store: it is ready in under a minute and asks for no card.
