Write product content that sells and gets found

Lesson 7 of 20 8 min

Product content has three readers: the customer, the search engine and, increasingly, the AI assistant that answers "which black leather boot is waterproof". The same text can serve all three if you structure it. This lesson shows how.

The description

Write for the customer first. A structure that works:

  1. First paragraph: what it is and who it is for. Two or three sentences a reader could lift on their own. AI answer engines quote first sentences, so make it self-contained: "A handmade leather ankle boot with a rubber sole, for daily wear in wet weather."
  2. What makes it different. Material, construction, origin, a detail that matters.
  3. How to use or care for it. Sizing advice, washing, assembly.
  4. What is in the box.

Aim for at least 50 words. Kambloo's SEO health report flags shorter descriptions as thin content. There is no upper limit, but every sentence should tell the customer something.

Avoid claims you cannot back up. "Best in Turkey" tells the reader nothing and can create legal exposure. "Full-grain leather, made in İzmir" tells them something they can check.

The specification table

Do not bury facts in prose. Fill in the attributes from your category template: material, sole, origin, weight, care. Kambloo turns these attributes into three things from one source:

  • a visible specification table on the product page,
  • the same values in the product's structured data,
  • the same values in your product feeds.

Because all three come from one place, they never disagree. Your admin shows a specification completeness score per product. Aim for full marks on your top sellers first.

FAQ blocks

The product editor has an FAQ block. Add the questions customers actually ask: "Does it run small?", "Is it waterproof?", "How long is shipping?"

Write the answer so the first sentence answers the question on its own. "Yes, it is waterproof. The leather is treated and the seams are sealed." An answer that starts with "Great question" is not an answer.

Kambloo prints FAQs as visible content and also as FAQ structured data, so search engines and AI engines both read them. It also suggests FAQs from your shipping and return policies, which you can accept or edit in one click.

Images and alt text

Every image has an alt text field. Describe what the image shows: "Black leather ankle boot, side view, on white background." Alt text helps blind customers, and it is how search engines index your images. Kambloo can fill empty alt text from the product name as a fallback, but a written description is better.

Titles and meta descriptions

The SEO tab on each product holds the search title and meta description. Leave them empty for now if you like; a store-wide template fills them in. Module 6 explains when to write custom ones.

Pick two to four related products in the relations tab. Choose complements, not substitutes: shoe care for boots, a belt for trousers. They appear in the cart as suggestions, and Kambloo reports the revenue they bring, so you can adjust.

Translations

If your store has more than one language, the name, descriptions, attribute values and FAQs are translated per language in the same form. The URL slug stays the same in every language. Untranslated fields fall back to your default language, and Kambloo does not announce a translation to search engines until it exists.

Common mistakes

  • Pasting the supplier's description. It is on a hundred other sites and it rarely answers customer questions.
  • Putting specifications only in the description text instead of the attribute fields.
  • FAQ answers that restate the question or open with filler.
  • Empty alt text on every image.
  • Superlatives instead of facts.

Apply this in your store: take your best-selling product, rewrite its first paragraph, complete its attributes, add two FAQs and write alt text for every image. Then repeat for the next product.

Apply this in your store

Your task

  1. Rewrite one product description to at least 50 words with a clear first paragraph.
  2. Fill in every attribute in the category template for that product.
  3. Add two FAQ entries whose first sentence answers the question.
