A document a buyer can act on
Most first sales do not start with an accounting system. They start with a buyer who asks for something in writing: a price list they can approve, a document their finance team can pay against, a record that says who sold what, on which date, for how much, and with which tax on top. That is the document this tool writes.
It is a proforma invoice. The wording matters, because it decides what the paper is for. A proforma states the price and the terms of a sale; it is a commitment and a request for payment, and it travels perfectly well with a parcel or an email. What it is not is a tax document. In every country that runs an electronic invoicing system, the legal invoice is the one that system issues, with its own number series and its own archive, and no PDF a browser builds can take that place. Use this document to agree the sale and get paid, then let your accountant or your invoicing system issue the record that goes in the books.
The arithmetic is the part people get wrong by hand. Each line is quantity times unit price, rounded once, and the tax of each line is worked out on that rounded amount. The totals block then shows a separate base and tax figure for every rate you used, because a document that mixes a twenty per cent line with a ten per cent line has to show both. Amounts are held as whole minor units - kurus, cents - from the first keystroke, so nothing drifts by a rounding error between the screen and the PDF.
Nothing you type is stored. The form lives in your browser; when you ask for the PDF, the fields are sent once, printed, and thrown away with the temporary files of the render. There is no account, no draft history and no email step. If the PDF service is busy or unreachable, the page still hands you the same invoice as a plain text file, because a free tool that keeps its output back is not a free tool.
How to use it
- Fill in the two sides Your business and your customer. A tax or registration number is optional, but a finance department usually needs one to pay.
- Number and date it Keep one unbroken series per year. The tool suggests a number and today's date; the due date follows the terms you agreed.
- Add the lines Description, quantity, unit price and the tax rate for that line. Mixed rates are fine: each one gets its own row in the totals.
- Check the totals The net sum, the tax per rate and the amount due update while you type. Read them before you print, not after you send.
- Download the PDF One A4 page in the language you are reading. Send it, or keep it next to the order until the real invoice is issued.
Questions about invoices
Is this a legal e-invoice?
No. It is a proforma: a priced, dated statement of a sale that a buyer can approve and pay against. Countries that run an electronic invoicing system - Turkey among them - require the legal invoice to be issued through that system, with its own number series and archive. Use this PDF to agree the sale and request payment, and let your accountant or your invoicing software issue the document that goes in the books.
Do you keep what I type?
No. The form runs in your browser. The only moment the data leaves it is the PDF request: the fields are posted once, rendered, and deleted with the temporary files of that render. Your invoice content is never stored and there is no account to hold a history. We do count that a PDF was built - the tool name, the page language and a rotating visitor hash, nothing from the invoice itself. If you close the tab, the invoice is gone - so download the file before you leave.
How is the tax calculated?
Per line. Quantity times unit price gives the net amount of the line, rounded once to the nearest minor unit; the tax rate of that line is then applied to that rounded net. The totals add the rounded lines, which is why the figure on screen and the figure in the PDF are always identical. The totals block shows a separate base and tax amount for each rate on the invoice, so a document with two rates on it stays readable.
