Definition
A theme is the design layer of a storefront: layouts, sections, colors, fonts, and templates that decide how products and pages look. It is separate from the store's data, so a merchant can change themes without losing products or orders. A good theme is fast, accessible, and configurable without code.
Why it matters for your store
The theme is the customer's first impression and a large part of the storefront's speed. A heavy theme with large scripts and unsized images fails Core Web Vitals no matter how fast the platform is. A theme with poor HTML structure hides your products from AI engines. A theme that needs a developer for every color change is a running cost.
The right split is: the platform owns the data, the URLs, and the SEO layer; the theme owns the look; the merchant adjusts the look through settings.
How Kambloo handles it
A Kambloo theme has three layers. Design tokens, such as colors, fonts, and corner radius, are changed in the visual customizer and applied instantly without rebuilding any CSS. Section templates define what appears on each page type and in what order, editable in the customizer. Underneath, the theme's views can be extended by developers.
Themes are distributed through the App Market, from Kambloo and from third-party designers, and are activated like modules. Before acceptance, every theme passes automated checks: the performance budget, accessibility rules, the semantic HTML rules that keep pages readable for AI engines, and the JavaScript limit. Themes cannot alter the payment area of the checkout, which keeps card handling within PCI scope.
All themes support the five ready languages and right-to-left layout for Arabic through the same templates. Because the platform generates SEO metadata and structured data, switching themes changes the design and nothing else.

Will changing my theme affect my products or SEO?
Products, orders, and customers are untouched; they live in the store's data, not the theme. URLs, canonical tags, and structured data are generated by the platform, so they stay the same across themes.
Can a theme slow my store down?
