Messaging integration

WhatsApp Business (360dialog / Meta Cloud API)

What it does

  • Sends order confirmations, shipping tracking, and abandoned-cart messages as pre-approved WhatsApp templates.
  • Submits Kambloo's ready-made template set to your WhatsApp Business Account for approval and tracks the status.
  • Applies IYS rules: utility messages are service messages; marketing templates require SMS-channel consent.

WhatsApp Business messaging is part of Kambloo's launch catalog. It connects through 360dialog or directly through the Meta Cloud API and is used for high-value moments: shipping tracking, order confirmation, and the last step of cart recovery. The adapter is an Internal Module. Kambloo charges nothing for it; Meta bills each template message.

How it works with Kambloo

WhatsApp implements the platform's MessagingChannel contract, so it plugs into the same notification and campaign engine as email and SMS. Which event uses which channel is a store setting. The channel priority table in Kambloo's design puts email first for most events because it is nearly free, and reserves WhatsApp for the moments where open rates justify the cost.

Every business-initiated message must use a template approved by Meta. Kambloo maintains a ready template set for order confirmation, shipping tracking, and abandoned cart, and submits it to your WhatsApp Business Account from the module settings. Approval is asynchronous; the module shows each template's status. Meta classifies templates as utility or marketing and prices them differently, and Kambloo maps those categories to its own transactional and marketing streams so the right rules apply automatically.

Consent follows the IYS channel model. Shipping and order messages are service messages and are outside IYS scope. Marketing templates, such as a coupon in a last-chance cart message, are subject to the recipient's SMS-channel consent, and the consent gate at the start of every send job enforces this.

Cost is shown before you send. The campaign builder displays an estimated cost per step from recipient count and unit price, and the message log records the actual result per message.

The storefront's WhatsApp click-to-chat button is a separate feature.

Requirements

  • A WhatsApp Business Account via 360dialog or the Meta Cloud API.
  • Approved templates before any business-initiated message can be sent.
  • IYS consent on the SMS channel for marketing templates.

Setup steps

The short version. The screens in your store admin follow the same order.

  1. Set up a WhatsApp Business Account with 360dialog or the Meta Cloud API.
  2. Enter the API key and phone number ID under Settings > Messaging > WhatsApp.
  3. Submit the platform's template set from the module settings and wait for Meta's approval.
  4. Choose which events use WhatsApp: shipping tracking, last-chance cart recovery.
  5. Send a test template and check the delivery status.

Questions about WhatsApp Business (360dialog / Meta Cloud API)

Why do I need approved templates?

Meta requires that every business-initiated message uses a pre-approved template. Kambloo ships templates for order confirmation, shipping tracking, and abandoned cart and submits them to your account. Approval is asynchronous and the status is shown in the module.

Is WhatsApp cheaper than SMS?

Utility messages are typically cheaper than a Turkish SMS segment; marketing messages are more expensive. Kambloo shows an estimated cost per campaign step based on recipient count so you can decide.

Is this the same as the WhatsApp chat button on my store?

No. The click-to-chat widget is a storefront button that opens a chat from the customer's phone. This module sends templated messages from your business account.
