Uptime

Definition

Uptime is the share of time a website is reachable and working, usually quoted per month as a percentage; 99.9% uptime allows about 43 minutes of downtime in a month. For a store, every minute down is lost orders and lost trust, and campaigns are when failures hurt most. Hosted platforms publish a status page so merchants can see incidents as they happen.

Why it matters for your store

Downtime does not spread itself evenly. It happens during the sale you advertised, when traffic is highest and the servers are under the most strain. A store down for an hour on an ordinary Tuesday loses little; the same hour on the first day of a campaign loses the campaign.

The causes on self-hosted stores are familiar: an update that broke something, a certificate that expired, a plugin that crashed, a server that ran out of memory under load. A hosted platform should remove all four, and should be honest about the incidents that remain.

How Kambloo handles it

Kambloo's engineering target for storefront availability is 99.9% per month, and the Enterprise hosting plan comes with a contractual SLA. Every store sits behind Cloudflare's network, which absorbs traffic spikes and filters attacks before they reach the platform, and certificates renew automatically.

Updates are the usual cause of self-inflicted downtime, so they are handled carefully: rolled out in stages to a small share of stores first, monitored, and rolled back automatically if failures appear. Store owners see release notes in their panel and approve non-critical updates.

The status page at status.kambloo.com is hosted independently of the platform, so it stays up when the platform does not. It shows component status for storefronts, admin panels, the API, the App Market, checkout and payments, and email, with 90-day uptime bars, an incident log with timestamped updates, and RSS and webhook subscriptions. External monitoring checks the platform and a sample of storefronts continuously.

Reaching a hosting plan quota never shuts a store down; you are notified in advance and offered more capacity.

Questions about Uptime

How can I check whether Kambloo is up?

The status page at status.kambloo.com shows the state of storefronts, admin panels, the API, the App Market, checkout and payments, and email delivery, with 90-day history and an incident log. It is hosted separately so it stays up even if the platform does not.

Can a platform update take my store down?

Updates on Kambloo are rolled out in stages and rolled back automatically if failures are detected, and store owners approve non-critical updates before they apply. That limits the reach of any problem.
