Cookie Consent
Definition
Cookie consent is the notice and choice a website gives visitors before setting non-essential cookies, such as analytics or advertising trackers, as required under the GDPR, the EU ePrivacy rules, and Turkey's KVKK guidance. Essential cookies for the cart and login need no consent. A compliant banner offers accept and reject with equal weight and loads tracking scripts only after the visitor agrees.
Why it matters for your store
Advertising pixels and analytics scripts identify visitors across sites, which is personal data processing. Both European and Turkish rules require consent before those scripts run. A banner that appears after the pixel has already fired does not count, and a banner that makes rejecting harder than accepting is treated as no consent at all.
There is a balance. Every visitor who rejects is invisible to your ad platform's attribution, so stores are tempted to push for acceptance. The better path is to need less: cookie-free analytics for the basic numbers, and consent-gated scripts only for the advertising that needs them.

How Kambloo handles it
Storefronts include a category-based consent banner (necessary, analytics, marketing) with accept and reject presented equally. The visitor's choice is recorded, and scripts in the analytics and marketing categories load only when their category is accepted. Essential cookies for the cart, session, and security are set without a banner, as the rules allow.
Each store runs on its own hostname, so cookies are isolated per store and a script on one store cannot read another's.
Kambloo.com itself uses cookie-free analytics by default, which measures all traffic without a banner; a consent banner appears only if advertising pixels are enabled, and dark patterns are prohibited by the site's own design rules.
Questions about Cookie Consent
Do I need a cookie banner if I only use essential cookies?
No. Cookies needed for the cart, login, and security do not require consent. A banner is needed once you add analytics, advertising pixels, or other tracking that is not strictly necessary.
Is a banner with only an accept button compliant?
No. Rejecting must be as easy as accepting. A large accept button with a hidden reject link is a dark pattern that regulators have specifically called out.
