Affiliate Marketing

Definition

Affiliate marketing pays a partner, such as a blogger, influencer, or comparison site, a commission for each sale they send to a store. Sales are tracked with a unique link or coupon code tied to the partner. The store pays only for results, which makes it one of the lowest-risk acquisition channels.

Why it matters for your store

Ads charge for clicks whether or not anyone buys. Affiliates charge for sales. That shifts the risk to the partner and lets a small store reach audiences it could never buy its way into: a niche blog, a local influencer, a comparison site.

The channel runs on trust and tracking. Partners need to see their sales and commissions, promptly and accurately, or they stop promoting. The store needs attribution that survives a customer closing the browser and coming back tomorrow, which is why a coupon code is a useful backup to a tracking link.

Commission should be set against margin and lifetime value, not first-order revenue alone.

How Kambloo handles it

Bulk single-use coupon batches with a custom prefix are available today, exportable as CSV, which covers the common influencer setup of "your code, your audience." Coupon usage per batch is reported in the growth dashboard.

Two pieces of a store make the channel work: coupon codes that can be issued one per partner, and campaign parameters on incoming links that the analytics keeps with the order.

Separately, Kambloo runs its own referral program for people who bring new stores to the platform, with a tracking link and a commission summary at kambloo.com/affiliate.

Questions about Affiliate Marketing

How are affiliate sales tracked?

Two ways, often together: a tracking link with a partner parameter that tags the visit, and a partner-specific coupon code that tags the order even if the visitor arrives another way.

Does Kambloo have an affiliate program of its own?

Yes. Kambloo runs a referral program at kambloo.com/affiliate that pays people who bring new stores to the platform. It is separate from the affiliate tools a store uses for its own partners.
