Virtual POS (Sanal POS)

Definition

A virtual POS (sanal POS) is the online equivalent of a card terminal: a bank or payment provider account that lets a website accept card payments. Turkish merchants get one either through a payment service provider such as iyzico or PayTR, or directly from their bank under their own merchant agreement. The choice mainly affects commission rates, installment options, and how much setup work the merchant does.

Why it matters for your store

Commission is a direct cost on every sale. Payment service providers charge a single blended rate and take care of banks, installments, and fraud tools for you. A direct bank virtual POS, if you already have a banking relationship and reasonable volume, often costs noticeably less per transaction. The trade-off is paperwork: one application per bank, technical credentials, and installment rates you maintain yourself.

The two are not exclusive. A store can run a provider for most cards and route cards from its own bank's program to the bank POS, where the rate is best.

How Kambloo handles it

Kambloo treats every virtual POS as an ordinary payment gateway behind one shared contract, so the checkout does not care which one you use. iyzico and PayTR are the default providers and take minutes to connect.

For merchants with their own bank agreement, a single bank POS module covers the common Turkish banks and participation banks, including Akbank, İş Bankası, Ziraat, Halkbank, Garanti BBVA, Yapı Kredi, QNB, DenizBank, VakıfBank, Kuveyt Türk, Albaraka, and TEB. You do not install a separate module per bank.

The connection wizard has five steps: choose the bank, enter the credentials the bank issued (stored encrypted), run a 1 TL 3-D Secure test charge that is cancelled automatically, enter your installment and commission rates per card family, and activate. A bank POS is never listed at checkout until the test charge succeeds. If more than one bank POS is connected, Kambloo prefers the bank that matches the card's program family and falls back to your default.

Questions about Virtual POS (Sanal POS)

Should I use a payment provider or my own bank virtual POS?

A provider such as iyzico or PayTR gets you live in minutes with one contract and a ready installment table. A direct bank POS usually has a lower commission but needs a bank application and manual installment setup. Many stores start with a provider and add a bank POS as volume grows.

Can I use Stripe for a Turkish company?

Stripe does not offer merchant accounts to companies established in Turkey. It is an option for merchants with a foreign entity selling abroad. Domestic cards and installments need a Turkish provider or bank POS.
